Invitation to Masterclass – The Variability of the West African Monsoon

In the framework of the IPSL-Climate Graduate School, we are pleased to invite you to an upcoming masterclass on “The Variability of the West African Monsoon”  Monday May 4th 2026, led by Dr. Pablo Fernández from LOCEAN and IPSL.

Part 1: 9:30–11:00
This session will introduce the variability of the West African monsoon, along with the main research questions addressed in IPSL laboratories.
Part 2: 11:15–12:45
A hands-on session using Python notebooks will present statistical tools and datasets available at IPSL for analyzing and attributing climate variability, with a focus on the West African monsoon.
Lunch: 12:45
Breaks and lunch will be provided, offering additional opportunities for discussion and networking among Master’s students, PhD candidates, and early-career scientists.
